Requirements to Sponsor Spouse in Canada

You can sponsor your spouse or partner given that you fulfill the following criteria:

You must be at least 18 years of age.
You must either be a citizen or permanent resident of Canada, or even a person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act
You must have proof stating that, for reasons other than disability; you are not receiving any social assistance.

INLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Canadian citizens or permanent residents are eligible to pursue Inland sponsorship when their spouse or partner has a temporary status in Canada, either as a worker, student, or visitor.

As a sponsor, you must be able to prove that you

Are a legal Canadian citizen or a permanent resident,
are at least 18 years old;
can provide the basic needs for yourself and your sponsored souse and can support them financially,
ensure that your spouse/partner does not require financial aid from the Canadian government
