Express Entry Canada

If the candidate, in fact, meets the criteria, he can formally request to immigrate and further become a permanent resident of Canada through their Express Entry profile. Once that is done, the candidate’s request is met with a comprehensive scoring on the basis of their work experience, skills, educational qualifications, language proficiency etc. – also called CSR or Comprehensive Ranking System (a point-based system). These pointers are directly based on the factors that can aid a candidate thrive as a migrant in Canada.

The score that is obtained in the CSR decides the candidate’s rank within the pool of candidates waiting to immigrate. Those candidates, who score the highest, are issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) by Citizenship and Immigration Canada for an expedited Canadian immigration and then a permanent residency.

Comprehensive Ranking System

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is an immigration point based selection system that is used to rank, assess and score the eligible candidates to put them in the Express Entry pool.

Total number of points available under the Express Entry CRS is 1,200. To select the candidates from the pool, the top-ranked ones receive an ITA. The more points you accumulate, higher the chances of you being invited to apply.

Federal Skilled Worker

Federal Skilled Workers are persons with desired education, work experience, age and language abilities (under one of Canada’s official languages) and who are selected under the Express Entry Immigration system to apply for permanent residence. To apply under FSW, you must have minimum 1 year continuous and full-time work experience in the skilled occupation listed.

Canadian Experience Class

The skilled workers who have at least 1 year of skilled, full-time work experience in Canada and want to become permanent residents can apply under Canadian Experience Class. The candidate must have gained his work experience by being employed in Canada while under Temporary Resident status, along with an authorization to work.

Federal Skilled Trades Programs

Skilled workers who wish to become permanent residents of Canada apply for the FSTP. In order to apply for this, the candidate must have minimum two years of full-time and skilled employment in a skilled trade. If not full-time, a candidate with an equal amount of part-time work is also eligible to apply under it.
